About Us

Hello Logger Community!

Onalaska is a small community located in Lewis County. Established in 1924, there is a long history of the school district providing strong educational opportunities for the community. From its early days as a logging community, it is seeing a transformation in farming, nurseries, and other growth as businesses see a potential market.

For a small school of about 250 students, we offer a vast variety of classes for the students. Some elective classes include video productions, floral design, horticulture, sports marketing, business law, digital arts, band/choir, cuisine, child development, and many more. In fact, there are aquaculture classes that have students raise and care for salmon and trout in a one-of-a-kind hatchery. The fish are later released in a local lake for sportsman to take advantage of. All of our classes help students learn skills that will help them become successful in the 21st Century job market. We have also established an on-line only school called the Axe Virtual Academy (AVA) for students that need a different approach to their education.

We also have several extra-curricular activities for students. These include football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, cross-country, track & field, softball and baseball. Some non-athletic activities are knowledge bowl, band, choir, GSA club, science club, and EA Sports.

If you would like to register your child, please use our on-line process, or just stop into the main office. We are here to help. If you have any questions or want more information, please reach out to us.

Remember, everyday is a great day to be a Logger!
