Electronics Use Reminder!! – From Mr. Pilloud

Friendly Reminder To Students! To help everyone stay focused and successful in class, please remember that unauthorized electronic devices — including cell phones, earbuds, personal computers, gaming devices, and similar items — are not allowed during class time. Any devices brought to class will be confiscated and taken to the office.

Please leave these items at home so you can make the most of your learning time. Thanks for helping keep our classrooms focused and distraction-free!

Senior Photo Deadline Extended – Due Feb 13

Seniors, the deadline to turn in your Senior Photos for the yearbook has been extended to February 13. If you have questions, please see Mr. Cole or a member of the yearbook staff. Email a high-resolution jpeg file to jcole@onysd.wednet.edu.

Colorado School of Mines – Free Application Feb 9 - 14

Mark your calendar! Your students can apply to Colorado School of Mines for free Feb. 9–14. There’s no promo code or special process. Your students can simply submit their application through the Golden Application during that window and the fee is automatically waived. It’s a good idea for interested students to start preparing now so they’re ready to submit once the free app window opens. No test scores or essays required.

At Mines, students find an engineering and applied science education that delivers real results — from world-class academics to strong industry connections, all set in beautiful Golden, Colorado.

Please note: The Free App offer is only valid for applications submitted through the Golden Application between Feb. 9 and 11:59 p.m. (MT) on Feb. 14, 2026. Applications submitted via the Common App are not eligible for a fee waiver.

Onalaska Scholarship Fund Committee Ticket Pickup – Wed, Feb 11

OHS Seniors who are planning on submitting a Scholarship Notebook are required to presell tickets to the Dinner/Auction that will be held on Saturday, March 21. Students MUST pick up their Dinner/Auction ticket packets from Mrs. Stingley on Wednesday, February 11, in the College & Career Center during lunch. 10th, 11th, & 12th Grade Trio TS Mentorship Day – Deadline Feb. 12

Centralia College TRIO TS students in the 10th, 11th or 12th grade who would like to attend the TRIO Mentorship Day on Thursday, March 12, must have their signed application forms to Ms. Baker in the College & Career Center no later than 3pm, on Thursday, February 12, in order to be considered by Centralia College for placement. Late forms will not be accepted by Centralia College. Students must be a current participant of the Centralia College TRIO TS program to be eligible to participate.

Centralia College TRIO Mentorship Day is a job shadowing opportunity for students who participate in the TRIO TS program through Centralia College. Applicants who are chosen to participate in this event will be matched with a professional whose career field most closely matches their interests. Students will spend the morning job shadowing at a work site, then will conclude with a luncheon at Centralia College. Transportation to and from the event must be provided by the student’s parent or guardian. Neither Onalaska High School, nor the Onalaska School District are affiliated with this event.

Baylor News & Updates – Deadline Feb. 15

We wanted to share a little birthday present with you! Baylor turns 181 on February 1, and we're celebrating by extending the Fall 2026 application deadline by two weeks, to February 15, giving your students a bit more time to apply. February 15 is also the final deadline for students to submit both their CSS Profile and FAFSA* to guarantee their consideration for institutional need-based aid. We’d love to see your student's applications today. It's completely FREE to apply!

Horatio Alger Scholarships – Deadline Feb 15

The Horatio Alger Association supports deserving young people who are overcoming significant challenges and are committed to pursuing higher education. Our scholarships and services serve as a powerful symbol of recognition of Scholars’ character and of our belief in their potential.

While most other scholarships focus exclusively on academic achievement or leadership potential, Horatio Alger Scholarships are also intended for promising students who have critical financial need, demonstrate integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and are determined to succeed.

Senior Application – Deadline February 15, 2026

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at one of the target colleges/universities on our website (complete list can be found here: Senior Scholarships)

  • Demonstrate financial need ($100,000 or lower household income)

  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities

  • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity

  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0

  • Be a United States citizen

Junior Application – Deadline March 1, 2026

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States

  • Demonstrate financial need ($100,000 or lower household income)

  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities

  • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity

  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0

  • Be a United States citize

Women Supporting Women Scholarship – Deadline Feb 15, 2026

Women Supporting Women Scholarship is a non-profit organization which supports Lewis County women in their pursuit of higher education by awarding tuition scholarships. Applicants must be a graduate of a high school in Lewis County or Rochester, WA., who are enrolled in any undergraduate level, freshman through senior at accredited colleges or universities, as well as online, technical and trade schools. Application packets are available in the OHS College and Career Center or can be requested online after November 1, 2025, at WSWScholarships@gmail.com. Completed applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than February 15, 2026.

Robert Morris Masonic Lodge #97 Outstanding Student Award – Deadline Feb 28

The Robert Morris Masonic Lodge #97 has opened applications for their Outstanding Student Award. Scholarships are awarded to recipients in a school-wide competition. All awards are made based on scholastic achievement, community service, citizenship, financial need and evaluation of written responses. Application packets can be picked up in the OHS College and Career Center. Applications must be postmarked by February 28, 2026.

Washington State School Retirees’ Association Scholarships – March 1

The Washington State School Retirees' Association (WSSRA) invites senior students who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply for the Robert J. Handy/WSSR Foundation/Gene Forrester Memorial Scholarships. These awards are given to students who plan a career in the field of education.

Kelly Foundation Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship – Deadline March 7

The Kelly Foundation of Washington is offering $3250 awards for its scholarship program, the Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship.  This award is named in honor of Ewing C. Kelly, a longtime radio and television broadcaster.

The Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship is designed to reward students who demonstrate good citizenship while striving to attain their academic goals.  Applicants will be judged on their academic merit, extracurricular achievements--both scholastically and in their community--and financial need.

Applications:  Applications are available in the College & Career Center or online.  Applications must be postmarked by March 7, 2026. 

Smart Choices Scholarship – Deadline March 7

Now accepting applications for the 2026 Gesa Credit Union and Dairy Farmers of Washington Smart Choices College Scholarship Program which will award two $5,000 scholarships and eight $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from WIAA member high schools for excellence in athletics/activities, academics, leadership and community service throughout their high school careers.

Applicants are required to fill out an online application that includes an essay question. Judging is based on the following criteria:

Athletic/Activity Excellence (30%)

Academic Achievement (30%)

Leadership (20%)

Citizenship/Community Service (10%)

Originality/Creativity of the Essay (5%)

Financial Need (5%)

Fred G Zahn Scholarship – Deadline March 31

The Fred G. Zahn Scholarship was established to provide scholarships to students in the state of Washington who are graduating high school and are continuing their education by attending a Washington State accredited college, university, or post-graduate institution. Alfred G And Elma M Milotte Scholarship – Deadline March 31

Alfred G. and Elma M. Milotte had a love affair with nature that they shared with the world through the media of their day— motion pictures, lectures, books and more. Though deceased, the Milottes continue their legacy through their scholarship trust, awarding one-year scholarships of up to $4,000 to individuals who share their enthusiasm for exploring, chronicling, and spreading the magnificence of the wilderness through artistic communication.
