ASVAB TESTING FOR ALL JUNIORS - Nov 20

The FREE ASVAB test is different from both the ACT and the SAT. The ASVAB helps students learn about their strengths and interests, which will assist them in planning for their career and their future. The ASVAB will be administered to ALL OHS JUNIORS on November 20, 8:30 am, in the Logger Cafe.  Students should bring their charged Chromebooks and bring their chargers with them. The military will not receive student information unless the student opts in to share their information. For more information contact Mrs. Kenny at

FRESHMEN: CENTRALIA COLLEGE LIFE MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE – Registration Due Nov 21

OHS Freshmen are invited to register for the Centralia College Life Management Conference for 9th Graders. The event will be held on Friday, December 12, from 9:30am to 11:45 am, at Centralia College.

The event is designed to provide 9th grade students with opportunities to develop life and decision-making skills, as well as plan for their futures. In addition to a dynamic keynote, students will have the opportunity to attend two 50-minute workshops from the selections offered.

Interested students should sign up in the College & Career Center by Monday, November 17Registration forms and signed permission form are due to Ms. Baker in the College & Carer Center no later than Friday, November 21. Spots will be filled based on eligibility requirements and date signed forms are returned to Ms. Baker in the College & Career Center.

JOSTENS EARLY ORDER DISCOUNT – Ends Dec 10, 2025

Seniors - If you did not receive a packet, please pick one up in the Career Center. The only required purchase to participate in graduation is the cap and gown package.

Important Dates:

Senior Cap & Gown Meeting: Oct. 13 at 8:15am (students receive packets)

In-person Ordering Day: Oct. 27 in the Commons, during lunch, (families welcome)

Fall Price Deadline for online Cap & Gown Ordering: Dec. 10 (last day for Fall pricing)

Juniors – if you would like to order your letterman’s jacket, class ring, or other items to have available to wear senior year, you can also place your order on In-person ordering day. Just be sure to tell our rep you are a JUNIOR.

Seniors, graduation is right around the corner. Have you scheduled your college and career readiness review with Ms. Baker yet? If you need info on colleges, trade schools or programs, scholarships, career paths, or even tips on keeping organized, she can help. Book your appointment with Ms. Baker today by clicking here or stopping by the Career Center. The Career Center is open for walk-in student use before and after school, and during lunch – no appointment needed.

NOVEMBER SCHOLARSHIPS – Deadlines through 2/1/26
StudentScholarships.org has been providing scholarship information to students and scholarship management services to companies since 2003. Our staff spends countless hours searching both online and offline sources to find new and exciting scholarships for students to apply for. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline Nov 24, 2025

Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded more than $30 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors. This year, we are awarding $2 million in scholarships to 600 students. Each year, scholarship recipients are selected based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. WASHINGTON STATE FAIR FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS – Opens Dec 1
The Blue Ribbon Scholarship Program is made possible through the generosity of the Foundation’s donors. Since the inception of the program in 1991, more than $2,000,000 in awards have been distributed and have provided a "fair chance" at a college education. As support of the program has grown, so have the opportunities for students. We are now pleased to offer scholarships to students statewide.

Students only need to submit one application for all our scholarships offered online. The application system will automatically apply students for the scholarships in which they qualify. WA STATE GOVERNORS’ SCHOLARSHIP FOR FOSTER YOUTH – Deadline Jan 30
The Washington State Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth is a scholarship program that helps young people from foster care continue their education and earn a college degree. The program is supported by The Honorable Gov. Jay Inslee (former governor), The Honorable Chris Gregoire (former governor), The Honorable Gary Locke (former governor), and other former governors in Washington state.

The application cycle for the Washington State Governors' Scholarship for Foster Youth for the 2026-2027 academic year opens on December 1, 2025, and closes on January 30, 2026. The program is administered by the College Success Foundation (CSF).

WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline Feb 15, 2026

Women Supporting Women Scholarship is a non-profit organization which supports Lewis County women in their pursuit of higher education by awarding tuition scholarships. Applicants must be a graduate of a high school in Lewis County or Rochester, Wa., who are enrolled in any undergraduate level, freshman through senior at accredited colleges or universities, as well as online, technical and trade schools. Application packets are available in the OHS College and Career Center or can be requested online after November 1, 2025, at WSWScholarships@gmail.com. Completed applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than February 15, 2026.

KELLY FOUNDATION EWING C. KELLY SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline March 7, 2026

The Kelly Foundation of Washington is offering $3250 awards for its scholarship program, the Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship.  This award is named in honor of Ewing C. Kelly, a longtime radio and television broadcaster.

The Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship is designed to reward students who demonstrate good citizenship while striving to attain their academic goals.  Applicants will be judged on their academic merit, extracurricular achievements--both scholastically and in their community--and financial need.

Eligibility:  1) Applicant must be accepted, or have an application pending, at an accredited institution of higher learning, public or private and including community and technical colleges; 2) must be a senior level student at a public or private high school (or home school); 3) IF the college you are attending requires ACT/SAT scores, you must have an ACT composite score of 20 or a composite score of 1030 on the SAT. NO test scores required for 2-year schools); 4) must be a U.S. citizen or have a green card.

Applications:  Applications are available in the College & Career Center or online.  Applications must be postmarked by March 7, 2026.
