JOSTENS IN-PERSON ORDERING – OCT 27

Students received Josten’s packets on Monday, October 13. If you did not receive a packet, please pick one up in the Career Center or from Mr. Abrahamson. Along with the traditional items like class rings and lettermen jackets, there are some fun new options this year including a one-of-a-kind customized-to-you class belt buckle, class t-shirts, sweatshirts and other items. The only required purchase to participate in graduation is the cap and gown package.

 

Important Dates:

Senior Cap & Gown Meeting: Oct. 13 at 8:15am (students receive packets)  packets still available

In-person Ordering Day: Oct. 27 in the Commons, during lunch, (families welcome)

Fall Price Deadline for online Cap & Gown Ordering: Dec. 10 (last day for Fall pricing)

Juniors – if you would like to order your letterman’s jacket, class ring, or other items to have available to wear senior year, you can also place your order on In-person ordering day. Just be sure to tell our rep you are a JUNIOR.

ASVAB TESTING - Nov 20

The FREE ASVAB test is different from both the ACT and the SAT. The ASVAB helps students learn about their strengths and interests, which will assist them in planning for their career and their future. The ASVAB will be administered to ALL OHS JUNIORS on November 20, time TBD, in the Logger Cafe.  The military will not receive student information unless the student opts in to share their information. Seniors, graduation is right around the corner. Have you scheduled your college and career readiness review with Ms. Baker yet? If you need info on colleges, trade schools or programs, scholarships, career paths, or even tips on keeping organized, she can help. Book your appointment with Ms. Baker today by clicking here or stopping by the Career Center. The Career Center is open for walk-in student use before and after school, and during lunch – no appointment needed.

OCTOBER SCHOLARSHIPS NEWSLETTER – Deadlines 10/28/25 – 2/1/26
StudentScholarships.org has been providing scholarship information to students and scholarship management services to companies since 2003. Our staff spends countless hours searching both online and offline sources to find new and exciting scholarships for students to apply for. Our database is considered the largest and most comprehensive source for finding scholarships online and is 100% free for the public to use. Visit the

OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY – Early Deadline Nov 1
Admissions deadlines apply to all application documents, as well as changes to your application including changing your term, major, and campus. We recommend submitting these requests well before deadlines to ensure everything is received on time. November 1, 2025, is the Early Action Deadline.  Students who have applied and have a complete application file will be notified by mid-December. WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY – Priority Deadline Nov 15
Washington State University admissions applications are now open. To be considered for these Washington State resident scholarship programs (and more) complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by January 31 and apply for admissions by March 31. Admissions deadlines:

UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON – Deadline Nov 15

Academic preparation and achievement are some of the most important factors when it comes to reviewing your application, but we want to know more. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline Nov 24, 2025

Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded more than $30 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors. This year, we are awarding $2 million in scholarships to 600 students. Each year, scholarship recipients are selected based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. KELLY FOUNDATION EWING C. KELLY SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline March 7, 2026

The Kelly Foundation of Washington is offering $3250 awards for its scholarship program, the Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship.  This award is named in honor of Ewing C. Kelly, a longtime radio and television broadcaster.

 

The Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship is designed to reward students who demonstrate good citizenship while striving to attain their academic goals.  Applicants will be judged on their academic merit, extracurricular achievements--both scholastically and in their community--and financial need.

 

Eligibility:  1) Applicant must be accepted, or have an application pending, at an accredited institution of higher learning, public or private and including community and technical colleges; 2) must be a senior level student at a public or private high school (or home school); 3) IF the college you are attending requires ACT/SAT scores, you must have an ACT composite score of 20 or a composite score of 1030 on the SAT. NO test scores required for 2-year schools); 4) must be a U.S. citizen or have a green card.

 

Applications:  Applications are available in the College & Career Center or online.  Applications must be postmarked by March 7, 2026.
