SENIORS – UNLOCK FINANCIAL AID FOR TECH AND TRADE CAREERS
OHS Seniors: As graduation approaches, OHS seniors are being encouraged to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), even if they're planning to pursue careers in tech or trades. While many associate FAFSA with four-year colleges, it’s also a key resource for students entering vocational programs, apprenticeships, or tech certifications.
Applying for FAFSA opens doors to various forms of financial support, including federal grants, scholarships, and low-interest loans—funds that can be used for tuition, tools, equipment, and other training-related expenses. With demand for skilled workers in fields like IT, construction, and healthcare rising, many employers are offering apprenticeship programs and certifications that can be funded through FAFSA, easing the burden of education costs.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to make your career training more affordable. Whether you’re pursuing a coding bootcamp or a hands-on trade, FAFSA could help you save thousands on your journey to a rewarding career. Contact Ms. Baker in the College & Career Center to book an appointment by stopping by or emailing jbaker@onysd.wednet.edu. Parents are welcome to book appointments and attend with their students as well. Additional information can be found at studentaid.gov.
