The Lewis County Youth Mentorship Program is hosting their annual Back to School Supply Give A Way and Resource Fair. We want to help support as many of our youth in Lewis County as we can. Please share the flyers with families to get the word out. We will be giving away backpacks, school supplies, there will be free sports physicals, free haircuts, free clothing and over 70 different agency resources that serve Lewis County there.
Students spent 3 days working at NW Trek helping the maintenance crew perform routine tasks
Boaters License, Camping, Trail work, these kids are rocking it! All the students passed their boaters tests and had practical hands-on experience. Camping was a unique experience where students cooked for themselves, set up their own tents, worked all day with the Olympia Mountaineers removing invasive plants and spent the evening swimming Coldwater Lake.
The OHS CTE Summer Program completed its 2nd 40 hour work week. We worked with Park Rangers at Ike Kinswa and SeaQuest State Park building recreational trails, removing invasive plants, and touring the Mt. St. Helens visitor center. The Department of Natural Resources provided technical training on plant identification, invasive plant removal, and amphibian identification on Lake Kapowsin. Our week concluded with partnering with the Nisqually River Foundation helping remove invasive plants. These young students are rising up and doing very well for being 14-16 years old.

Attention: Vandalism in Preschool Parking Lot
Over the past few days, including the weekend, individuals have been doing donuts in the back preschool parking lot. This area was recently repaired, with significant time, effort, and resources spent to fix potholes and provide our bus drivers with a smooth and safe surface for student transportation.
Unfortunately, the recent damage now requires our maintenance staff to revisit and repair the area again—diverting time and resources away from other important work.
While we understand that some may see this as harmless fun, this type of behavior is unacceptable on school property. We have video evidence and have identified those involved. We are asking that you please contact the school directly so we can address this internally.
If no one comes forward, this matter will be turned over to the sheriff’s office for further action.

High School Summer CTE Program cont.
The High School Summer CTE Program is off to a great start! Students visited Tacoma Power and toured the dam, hatchery, and had in depth discussions with engineers, mechanics, and parks employees. We did some invasive plant removal for the City of Centralia and removed an old fence for a private landowner. We ended the week with students earning their first aid/CPR card. Students have demonstrated grit as they learned new skills, engaged in conversations with employers, and worked a 40 hour work week. This program will conclude on August 13th. Students earn 1.5 science credits and a $1,800 stipend. This year we have Abby and Sammy Ellis, Maddy Hanson, Ayden Risley, Sofi Legg, Autumn Smalley, Chloe Haag, George Walizer, and Emma Oien.

Onalaska School District has declared a transportation vehicle as surplus. Staff may view the item from May 28–June 10. If not claimed, a bid will be set and:
June 11–12: Viewing open to public schools, private schools, and homeschool families.
June 13–23: Open to the general public.
Deadline to submit sealed bids: June 23 at 3:00 p.m.
Bids may be mailed or hand-delivered to the Onalaska District Office. The highest bidder will be notified by 3:15 p.m. on June 23.

INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE - TOLO DANCE POSTPONED

Due to Inclement weather and a change to district basketball games. The Tolo dance scheduled for this Saturday, February 15, has been postponed.
If you have already purchased tickets you will be either able to keep them for the rescheduled dance or receive a refunded through the HS office.
