Welcome Back Loggers!!

As the principal of Onalaska High School it is my pleasure to welcome you back to another fantastic year. I hope you all had a great summer and are ready to get back in the swing of things. Our staff has been working extremely hard to ensure our students are receiving a quality education and enjoying a great overall experience.

Included below are a few special announcements and reminders that will hopefully assist you in getting the year started.

· New Family & Consumer Science Teacher: Be sure to stop by sometime and welcome our new Family & Consumer Science instructor, Ms. Courtney Teitzel. Courtney is a graduate of Centralia Community College and Central Washington University.

· New Shop Class: This year I am excited to announce that Mr. Hoffman will be offering Auto Mechanics.

· Supplies: Students should have plenty of #2 pencils, college ruled paper, and a notebook for each class. At this time students will not be issued a locker so a backpack is also highly recommended.

· Chromebooks: Again this year each student will be able to checkout a Chromebook. Students will check these out once school begins.

· Student Registration/Skyward: Please don’t forget to update your student’s information on Skyward. This can be located on the district webpage under “Parents & Students”. This online system provides you with a plethora of information and gives you immediate access to your student’s grades and attendance records. If you forgot your password simply contact the high school office.

· Yearbooks: If you purchased a yearbook they are available at the office for pick up.

· Student Schedules: Student schedules are included. If you wish to request a schedule change, please contact the counselor once school begins. Schedules cannot be changed before then.

As we progress throughout the school year please do not hesitate to let us know how we can best meet the needs of your students. Enjoy the last few days of summer and we look forward to seeing you on the first day of school; Tuesday, August 31st.

Go Loggers!!!!

The ONY Way:

You will hear staff and students talk about The ONY Way. The ONY Way is a set of five traits that we hope students will learn and instill while at school and in the community.

The five traits are:

GRIT: To have courage and resolve; strength of character;

PASSION: To approach life with a compelling enthusiasm;

VISION: The ability to plan for the future with imagination and wisdom;

FAMILY: All students are part of the Onalaska family. We will accept each other for our differences, strengths and weaknesses;

SERVICE: The action of helping someone without the need for anything in return.

These traits are important life qualities that every person needs to be a successful adult. Please help us teach and support The ONY Way!
